TWO PLANS FOR A NEW WORLD ORDER

Originally, there were THREE plans (detailed in the Three Plans for a New World Order “Archives” page), but the overthrow of the Soviet Union was achieved by America and the papacy working together, instead of being in opposition to each other, so now there are only two plans.

This development brings world events in line with Bible prophecy found in Revelation 13, which only mentions two nations planning to control the world. Those two nations are America and the papacy.

Revelation 13 verses 1 to 10 trace the development of the papacy. Constantine's Edict of Milan (AD 313), officially introduced religious toleration within the Roman Empire. He held the Bishop of Rome in high esteem, and soon the Roman Catholic Church claimed to be the only true church, established by Jesus Christ.

The popes extended their authority to include even Emperors and Kings, leading to a 1260 year period of papal supremacy in both political and spiritual realms which lasted from 538 to 1798. During this period the popes enthroned, directed and deposed leaders of nations.

This first period of papal supremacy ended in 1798. Revelation 13:3 says: “And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death……” In that year the pope was taken prisoner to France, where he died in captivity, August 1799. Most people thought that was the end of the papacy. But the next words in verse 3 do not agree. They say: “and his deadly wound was healed.”

This prophecy started to be fulfilled on February 11th 1929, with the signing of the Lateran Treaty between the papacy and Italy. The papacy was given full control of the approximately 109 acres of land known as Vatican City, and was paid a large sum of money as compensation for loss of temporal power.

The establishment of Vatican City as an independent political state able to exchange ambassadors with other nations opened the way for the papacy to seek again the political as well as religious supremacy it had enjoyed for 1260 years in the Dark Ages.

Until the reign of Pope John Paul II (1978-2005) this aim seemed unlikely to be realised. But he altered the entire perspective with a breath-taking round of international travel during which he gained the admiration of nearly every nation on earth. This is covered by the last part of Revelation 13:3 which says: “and all the world wondered after the beast.”

When Pope John Paul II died on April 2nd 2005, his funeral provided a spectacle such as had never before been seen. Up to 2 million people gathered in Rome to attend his funeral; and there was an unprecedented gathering of world religious and political leaders, including the present US President, his Secretary of State, and two former presidents.

The subsequent inauguration of Benedict XVI reinforced the message that we live in the time in which it will be said “all the world wondered after the beast.” (Revelation 13:3.) Benedict XVI was head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith - once known as the Holy Office of the Inquisition - from 1981 until his election, and for many years was chief confidant of his predecessor. Like John Paul II, he believes in Mariolatry – the worship of Mary -- and also proclaims his firm beliefs in Sunday sacredness, the Mass, and the universal primacy of the Roman Catholic Church.

Now we turn to the other power – America. Revelation gives an outline of its rise and subsequent course in chapter 13: 11-18. It arose peaceably, and was lamb-like. But a change has taken place; she is now seen by most of the world as speaking as a dragon, and seeking to force other nations to do her will. Acting in a unilateral manner she sets up and deposes rulers and governments. Her aim in all this is to gain complete political dominance over all other nations, and of course that will be brought about by the use of her overwhelming military power.

That is where America stands today. In the case of the papacy she has already seen one period of world supremacy for 1260 years in the Dark Ages. But America cannot look back on anything like that, so we must look to other reasons to understand why she is now acting in this way.

The main reason has a religious basis. George W Bush was elected president because of the backing of the Religious Right movement. Since 2001 he has been regarded by them as “The First Prince of the Theocratic States of America.” This was the signal that “the Bush administration was a government under God that was led by an anointed President who would be the first regent in a dynasty of regents awaiting the return of Jesus to earth. The President would now be the minister through whom God would execute His will in the nation.” (Yurica Report 11th February 2004).

In a 2004 speech, President Bush is on record as saying that that is a true statement of his role. He and the Religious Right have worked hard to ensure that the government is composed of those who bring in, and back, laws which enforce this type of government.

The Judiciary Department is one of the three branches of government established in America to act as checks and balances on what laws are passed. It has nine Supreme Court judges who are elected for life. Due to this president's nominations, five of these, including the Chief Justice, are now Roman Catholics. The other four are two Jews, One Episcopalian and one Protestant. That amazing ratio has never before been seen in the Judiciary.

The way has been opened and the stage set for the final events foretold in the Book of Revelation, and these will be detailed on this site in the near future. We will next examine Plan 1 - America and the Papacy .
